I like this page for the most part. The lettering in the big balloon is weak. Also maybe there are too many skritchy-skratchy lines in general. no biggie though - those will be lost in the washing process. Letter can be redone in photoshop if we don't like em. washes tonight.

captive - intro - progress

I took the day off to take care of my sick dog and made some good progress on the intro pages the captive story. spent the morning looking at movies to get a feel for fashion of 1817 then started filling in the seats at the philadelphia theater. This is 22 x 17 so its a lot of drawing but its nice to not have to fit the drawing in to a teeny little panel. I must say I am happy my drawing tonight. now I need some sleep.

I also did a little experiment on the "waterproofness" of my pens. turns out it's really waterproof but you need to wait about an hour.

I really like this page. The compositions and the washes look nice and the page looks good as a whole i think. 9 panels, 9 drawings. The drawings themselves are ok and suck in some spots but it's still one of my favorite pages so far.
