some quick cuts

more wacom work

Worked a little on trying to draw a little better using the wacom. Took a pic from yesterday and drew on top of it. doing this all electronically allows you to move objects around to improve the composition. Here I moved the dingy in the foreground over to the left to improve the balance of the drawing.

practice with my new markers

got some fine line markers and started doodling. I've been doing a lot more work with the markers and pens without pencils to try and loosen up and I am starting to get some pretty nice results. the lines look ok but I can't resist adding some color.

Spent too much time wrestling with the palette for this page (by "wrestling" I really mean avoiding it hoping inspiration would hit me). Finally I followed the advice of my economics professor who said, "the hardest thing about economics is getting your ass in the chair!" Turns out this is true about comics too and so I got my ass in the chair last night and finally past this page. Here is an excerpt:
